I love how I Peter 1:13-16 reads in the Messages, "So roll up your sleeves, put your mind in gear, be totally ready to receive the gift that's coming when Jesus arrives. Don't lazily slip back into those old grooves of evil, doing just what you feel like doing. You didn't know any better then; you do now. As obedient children, let yourselves be pulled into a way of life shaped by God's life, a life energetic and blazing with holiness. God said, "I am holy; you be holy."
In this final message in the "DIG" series, we talk about the importance of our motives as we "DIG." The Lord requires that we are Holy as He is Holy. The problem is that we can't be Holy on our own. That's why we need to accept the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ, because He makes us Holy in God's sight. Then we can truly begin to do some "Holy Digging!"
This series was a great opportunity to describe the heart and purpose of weDIGit, and I hope it has been a blessing to you. We are so thankful to First Baptist in Livingston, Texas.
